This is the first in a two part series of my Tour to all six of the Siedlungen der Berliner Moderne (Berlin Modernism Housing Estates). This post looks at the Großsiedlung Siemensstadt, Siedlung Schillerpark and Weiße Stadt. Enjoy these estates full of sleek lines, flat roofs and colour accents in some glorious sunshine.
Stage 48 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel would be the final visit to Berlin’s working Airports and visit the southernmost part of Berlin. Plus the importance of vowels in the German language.
It was peak cherry blossom time for Stage 31 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel so I completed a Stage that maximised the cherry blossom experience. Plus visiting most of the transport hubs of Berlin on a beautiful spring day.
Stage 19 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel took in bus routes in many of the Southern districts of Berlin. I discovered a donkey statue, Las Vegas inspired dorms, a thatched roof U-Bahn station and more!
Stage 13 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel had huge significance – it would be the first time the Grand Tour would pay tribute to Pi’s birth place in Mahlsdorf!
