Stage 49 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel tackled the penultimate S-Bahn route between Oranienburg and Wannsee. This allowed me the visit many lakes in the north and south of Berlin plus Kaffeeklatsch (gossip over coffee) with friends too.
Stage 48 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel would be the final visit to Berlin’s working Airports and visit the southernmost part of Berlin. Plus the importance of vowels in the German language.
Stage 47 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel was a major win in blood glucose management – within range the whole Stage! Plus sightings of Highland Cattle, great gravel paths in Falkenberg and the Mörderberg (Murder Mountain!).
Stage 46 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel was a beautiful loop around Wannsee. I visited a friend and contended with needy blood glucose during a ride with perfect cycling conditions.
Nadja joined me during Stage 45 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel! After putting her mechanic skills to the test, we headed up to Frohnau to catch up with a friend before parting ways. I discovered a horrible example of border control but also some lovely areas in Niederschönhausen and Pankow.
Stage 44 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel focused on the tram routes that run through the eastern part of Berlin. After a non-start in the previous Stage, this time my special guest was plagued by chain drops!
Stage 43 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel was a tale of two coffees plus a pre-Stage abandonment from my special guest. I also got to take in loads of new murals around Berlin too!
The second NinJa Cycles tour took place in the beautiful Harz region in central Germany. We were joined by Nadja’s cousin and her boyfriend for a fantastic tour through the Harz National Park, historic towns and even a sight of the steam Brockenbahn (Brocken Train).
The U8 was the backbone of Stage 42 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel. This was very much a modern history tour by crossing along the path of the Berlin Wall and cycling by many of the “ghost stations” during the Cold War.
Stage 41 of the Grand Tour de Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel completed the S25 route between the towns of Teltow and Hennigsdorf. Along the way, I passed through forests, checked out new graffiti and passed two border towers.
